‘Logorama‘ directed by the French animation collective H5, is an amazing short film I recently stumble-upon. The cartoon won the Oscar for best animated short 2010. It is so good it makes me sick.
The plot from IMDB: “Police chase an armed criminal in a version of Los Angeles comprised entirely of corporate logos”.
Hey I received a photo of one of my new paintings “Front Window Canary #1″ Â hanging in it’s new owners home. Â It was the first one to sell out of the new batch. Â I guess it is a little indulgent of me to post these on the site, but I get such a kick out of it that I can’t help myself.
Thank you Kate and Tom for sending the photo. Â I hope you and the painting have a long and happy life together.

Man we just had one freaky Friday.  Our nabourhood was hit by what folks are calling a  Micro Burst.  What that is I have no idea.  It sounded like a Tornado to me, but what do I know.  I was freaking out. Venus and I live in one of  the three houses that don’t have a basement in Kansas City.
I took some video  during and after the the storm.  Thankfully no one was hurt.  Lots of damage though.  All about a block away from our home.  Our Mayor, Mr. Funchouse even stopped by to survey the situation.
This is just the Start of the tornado season.  Venus will be busy  for the next few weeks digging a bunker in the back yard.

We took some video during and after the storm. Â I just missed capturing an electrical transformer exploding, but you can still hear it and see me run like a man trying to save his own ass in the video.
All of this happened about a block away from our home. Â Mayor, Mark Funkhouser even stopped by to survey the situation.
Hey Art Lovers, I have some new paintings posted on the site.  I am calling this batch ‘Cut Copy and Haste’.  The title sums up the process on these latest blobs. Click here to see cut out paper Mod Podged on to painted canvas all brought together with an uncanny lack of attention to detail. What’s not to love?
Take a look around and shoot me an if anything interests you.
Well yesterday our 16 year old cockatiel, Emmy had a major operation to remove a tumor from her left wing. She’d had it for over 10 years but just recently it doubled in size and began to bother her. A great new bird vet we just found recommended surgery even though there was a 30% change she might not make it. Doctor Exline said it would be like operating on a 90 year old lady and amputating her hand. Long story short Emmy is now missing one hand. But thankfully she is doing great and back to living the dream.
We are going to celebrate by getting her a new cage. That is if it ever stops snowing. Yeah that’s right, it’s the first day of spring and we have over 5 inches of fresh snow on the ground (video).
Thanks for stopping by,
Billy
Thanks for stopping by,

Update:Â Emmy is doing great… The amputation has almost totally healed and she seems to be digging her new cage.
I have been a big fan of Barry Smylie and his art for years. His work can be like a cinematic adventure. In a way they remind me of Alfred Hitchcock films. I bet Barry would disagree, but hey it’s my blog right.. Ha.  And that brings me to another reason I dig Barry, he has been a wonderful email friend and mentor to me.  I come away from his paintings and emails full of new ideas.  A very interesting guy for sure.
Now you too can probe the depths of Mr. Smylie’s art, and mind at his blog.
Watch as he documents the creation of his work and process. It is an online master’s course. Check out the rest of his site for all kinds of great surprises.
